What is CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark)?
CLB — Canadian Language Benchmark — is Canada's 12-level standard for measuring English ability, used by IRCC to award language points in economic-immigration programs such as Express Entry. PTE Core scores convert to a CLB level per skill via the published Pearson–IRCC equivalency, and your lowest skill decides your CLB. CLB 7 is a common program minimum; CLB 9 earns the maximum language points.

CLB is read per skill, not on average — three skills at CLB 9 and one at CLB 6 gives that skill CLB 6, and programs assess your lowest level.
