How PTE Core speaking is scored
Every recording is assessed for oral fluency and pronunciation by an acoustic speech model, with content scored per task: word-match scoring for Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence, and key-point coverage for Describe Image and Respond to a Situation. Speaking is where most Core candidates' CLB is decided — it is the band employers of the CLB system weight through your lowest skill.

The speaking sectional mock runs all 30 items under the real self-advancing flow — the fastest way to make the exam's pacing feel routine rather than rushed.
